Chasetown FC Official History is now LIVE!

A project that began back in 2022, has seen the book grow from 250 pages to the 500 page release that has just become live and available for sale.

Starting with results and notes that belonged to founder member Brian Baker, I began piecing together Chasetown Football Club's history from their 1954 formation as Chase Terrace Old Scholars.

Working closely with long-serving clubman Mick Joiner, the results and players names I'd discovered in the club's early years lent themselves into little stories that are interspersed throughout the book, with many photos that were in Baker's possession.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and that's equally true of a book of this magnitude, one that has never really been approached before in Chasetown's history.

Along the journey, I've had many people look at the book and make suggestions that have made it what it is today. From Trevor Saunders who provided the original watercolour for the cover background, to Jane Stuart who suggested player quotes in the FA Cup, Trophy and Vase stories, to Tim Nash who proofread the book extensively and additional proofreads from Dave Shelton, Jess Ferris, Jo Cardew and Merv Sargeant.

From the beginning of the project, I dreamt that Cardiff City's Aaron Ramsey - who scored his first competitive goal against Chasetown in 2008 - would provide something to wish us happy birthday. Thanks to former Premier League referee Alan Wiley and Mark Denham at Cardiff, that dream came true and Aaron's contribution is on page 499 of the book.
